Education Status in India- A Boon or a Threat....

It is rightly said that Education is a learning phase throughout one's life. Education has its roots all over the world but the thing matters is how education status flows throughout the country.

India has an uneven education structure although there are many resources to make the education system a better one.

The Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2012 is out and has already generated discussion on the state of education in the country. A quick survey of some figures seem to point to a mix of a movement forward - especially in terms of infrastructure and broad enrolment ratio - and a certain movement backward in terms of learning skills and teacher performance .

This clearly explains that enrollment in elementary is almost 100% in India. The bad news clearly signifies that in India survey shows that abilities in reading, writing and problem solving between students of age 6 to 14 years has declined considerably from past many years.

This clearly indicates that there is a "crisis of learning" in India. This has hampered the future growth of education sector in India. Especially, in the rural regions of India existence of Functional and General illiteracy is more as general illiteracy totally depends on the fact that how the learning phase in rural areas of India exist because it has been reported that in the rural areas schools and colleges don't really show the status of good educational prospects even for future.

Also, it has been analyzed that teachers in Indian schools and colleges are not really supporting the in-depth knowledge of the subjects but instead they focus on the implementation of the rules and regulations. The fact is lack of interest of teachers in hampering the growth of education in India has called a serious "crisis of learning" in India.

Regardless, it will be a cardinal blunder to overlook this shocking revelation, either for the outgoing administration or the incoming one that will take charge in May. Both qualitatively and numerically-Census 2011 reports that 73% of the 233.5 million children in the country between the ages of six and 14 live in rural India-the story is staggering.

Several MNC's in India have taken CSR initiatives to improve some sort of learning phases in the rural sector of India. Companies like Tata Consultancy Services have taken sustainability initiatives such as "Adult Literacy Campaign" in rural regions of Maharashtra that involved CBFL project (Computer based Functional Literacy) solution truly conceptualized and designed by TCS for adult people in India.

Overall, there need to be strategic planning throughout the country regarding learning and educational phases in India so that the growth of education sector in India remains stable and increasing.

It is rightly said "It is always about learning, which a country needs to develop as a method of strategic planning process in the Country"
